Trans-Lux and Barco Announce Worldwide Sales Partnership NORWALK, Conn., April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Trans-Lux Corporation , a leading provider of programmable LED digital electronic information displays and owner/operator of cinemas, and Barco, a leading provider of display solutions for professional/collegiate sports markets and commercial markets, have signed a joint supplier agreement. Trans-Lux will distribute Barco's line of advanced LED video display products to its catalog sports market, and Barco will become a worldwide distributor of Trans-Lux monochrome and tricolor LED digital displays.
"Trans-Lux and Barco are complementary in many important ways," said Trans-Lux President and Co-Chief Executive Office, Michael R. Mulcahy. "Barco's high-end LED video and our traditional LED digital electronic displays allow both companies to offer customers a full spectrum of integrated solutions from a single source. This arrangement will significantly expand our respective product lines, open new marketing channels, and pave the way for other combined opportunities."
Besides augmenting Trans-Lux's product line with high-quality video for the catalog sports market, Barco's market presence and worldwide network of approximately 50 sales personnel and over 100 agents open up a new distribution channel for Trans-Lux. Barco adds Trans-Lux's market-leading LED digital electronic displays to its product mix, receives access to new distribution channels, including Trans-Lux's network of catalog scoreboard dealers, and gains greater access to U.S. markets. Working together, the companies can offer complete packages of fully integrated display system solutions.
"We are excited to move forward with this partnership between Barco and Trans-Lux. The diverse product line offered by Trans-Lux complements Barco's state-of-the-art LED video displays, allowing us to deliver better solutions and greater value to our customers," stated Dave Janke, General Manager, Barco Media.
