Votorantim Selects GT Nexus as Global Freight Management Technology Platform

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) OAKLAND, CA and SAO PAULO, BRAZIL, September 30 / MARKET WIRE/ --

GT Nexus announced today
that its trade and logistics portal has been selected and deployed by the
Votorantim Group, a Brazilian industrial conglomerate, as its global
transportation management system of record. The technology, which is being
provided entirely on-demand over the Web, automates the Group's
procurement, spending allocation, and contract management processes for
ocean and air freight.

Votorantim Group is one of Brazil's largest business conglomerates, with
more than US$ 15.6 billion in annual revenues, and more than 60,000
employees worldwide. It operates in the cement and concrete, mining, pulp
and paper, concentrated orange juice, specialty chemical, electric power,
and financial sectors.

The Group has a large, complex transportation network involving multiple
carriers, trade lanes, and commodities. Votorantim selected GT Nexus
because it had the tools needed, and an impressive roster of customers.

"The Votorantim Group is one of our key customers in South America," said
Greg Johnsen, EVP of Marketing at GT Nexus. "We look forward to continuing
to help it strengthen its leadership position by providing cutting-edge
supply chain technology and services."

The first phase of the project automated Votorantim's global bid,
negotiating with its network of carriers for exports. The entire bid
process was standardized and executed online. Responses were optimized into
an allocation plan that identified the ideal service-price mix, and
contracts were then awarded.

The carrier service contracts are now digitized online for ongoing
management as services are executed. To ensure contracts stay up to date,
Votorantim and its carrier partners access contracts online, allowing them
to manage alterations and changes as services are delivered.

The GT Nexus platform will also be integrated into the Votorantim Group ERP
system. By providing the company's ERP system with standardized data feeds
directly from up-to-date transportation contracts, Votorantim will extend
the value of the solution to the financial side of the Group. The
Votorantim engagement is being managed by Multicom.net, the GT Nexus
certified partner in Brazil.

About the Votorantim Group

The Votorantim Group is one of Latin America's largest private business
conglomerates. It was founded in 1918 and operates companies, which are

abroad. The Group has industrial units in the areas of cement and concrete,
mining and metallurgy (aluminum, steel, nickel and zinc), pulp and paper,
concentrated orange juice, specialty chemicals and the self-generation and
distribution of electrical energy. It also operates in the financial and
new businesses areas.

The group has assets in 15 countries and employs around 60,000 people. It
is the only privately-owned Brazilian company that has investment grade
rating from the three top international rating agencies (Standard & Poor's,

of US$ 15.6 billion in 2007, EBITDA of US$ 4.3 billion and net income of
