Luxoft Contributes to the Growing Community of EBIF Developers
Jul 18, 2010 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Luxoft (http://www.luxoft.com), a leading global provider of advanced application and product development services, today announced the availability of free tutorials for Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) developers. EBIF, developed under the OpenCable project from Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs), is a multimedia content format standard that defines how widgets can be used in television systems and enables interactive television on large scale.
The tutorials are designed to give easy, step-by-step instructions for developers that work on common EBIF applications. Topics that are covered in the tutorials include two-way communication, creating dynamic content, entering text from remote control and more.
"At Luxoft we believe that interactive television is the next phase of multimedia entertainment," said Vasiliy Suvorov, vice president of technology strategy at Luxoft. "As with many emerging standards, a collaborative effort of global developers is necessary to ensure success for this relatively new innovation. We are happy to share our expertise in EBIF technology and thus contribute to this effort." The tutorials are available on the Luxoft website (http://www.luxoft.com/industries/media/interactive_tv.html) or on OCAP/EBIF Developer Network's (OEDN) community website at (http://www.oedn.net/blog/oedn-presents-three-downloadable-ebif-tutorials-courtesy-luxoft).
Luxoft provides standards-based OCAP/tru2way and EBIF interactive television solutions and services to the cable, consumer, electronics, and content industries. Luxoft is a single source with a focus on application development for interactive television based on OCAP and EBIF technologies. For more information, please visit us online at
