A trusted name among the industry’s Carrier Ethernet solutions providers, Overture Networks (News - Alert) is constantly working at raising the bar for Ethernet based technology innovations and development. The company was once again named the market’s dominant Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation platforms provider in the latest quarterly “Carrier Ethernet Access Platforms" (CEAP) tracker published by respected analyst firm, Heavy Reading, and has assumed a leadership role in the drive towards ubiquitous high-speed Ethernet connectivity.
In a release, Kevin Sheehan, President, Overture Networks, said, “Carrier Ethernet has evolved and matured into a versatile, sophisticated technology that is an essential underpinning in today’s worldwide communications network. As one of the industry’s recognized Carrier Ethernet Edge solution leaders, it is incumbent upon Overture to apply its expertise to the challenge of making global ‘anytime, anywhere’ Ethernet a true network reality.”
The three financial quarters of 2011 proved to be significant for Overture. It has succeeded at several milestones which also include its merger with Carrier Ethernet, Hatteras Networks (News - Alert), quite a big entity in the market. Several new growth and opportunities for cross-pollination have come up because of the merger. This has resulted in strong revenue growth, the addition of several new consumers as well introduction of many fresh solutions.
Stan Hubbard, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading, said, “Our research puts Overture at the forefront of delivering compelling Carrier Ethernet solutions to service providers around the globe. Their comprehensive portfolio and solid reputation in the market, position them well to support the fastest-growing communications services and applications including enterprise Ethernet and access to cloud-based services, wholesale Ethernet access and mobile backhaul applications.”
Enhancing Overture’s position of market leader is its strategic integration of innovative service offerings. Also its relocation to a larger headquarters with added corporate facilities has helped to a great extent. It is constantly adding to its product portfolio several new services. These include a 24x7 technical assistance center. This center comes with access to live Tier 3 engineer in as short as 30 seconds. The company augments its footprint expansion by moving to larger facilities in its North Carolina home base of Research Triangle Park (RTP). With its continuous expansion is the inauguration of a cutting edge development and testing lab and a customer service and support center.
